The “P U R E” range is the result of a reflection and work on the authenticity of the wine: how to express the area in all its personality, without any compromise?
– Parcel selection : Isolating a homogeneous parcel, planted with a single grape variety, highlights the influence of the terroir on the expression of the grape variety. The grape is then only a support, a pretext for the expression of the place in the vintage: uniqueness of place, uniqueness of time.
– No intrusion : It seems obvious that if we are looking for a “P U R E” expression of the place, we cannot tolerate any exogenous input. Not even a little sulfur! The “P U R E” range is therefore “sulfite-free”.
– “Transparent” maturing : what is the point of making a wine that is the “P U R E” expression of a place, if it is to mask it with an exogenous supply of woody essence?
We have chosen barrel ageing and it is with the best in Europe that we choose to work: Taransaud in France and Stockinger in Austria in volumes of 12 and 18 hectolitres.
The result is wines with a unique personality, often strong and assertive, without equivalence elsewhere. The best tasters will sometimes lose their usual reference points as the grape variety is sometimes “transparent” to the benefit of the identity of the place.
